Pro License Extension

The AI Actions extension lets you connect an AI assistant, like Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT, directly to your dealership's inventory. Once connected, you can ask it to search your inventory, update prices and descriptions, manage leads, edit vehicle details, decode a VIN, or optimize photos, all in plain language, without opening the DMS admin.

The AI acts as you: everything it does is logged, and it can only do what your WordPress user account is allowed to do.

The Abilities API isn't a plugin - it's built into WordPress core (wp_register_ability()). Nothing to install unless your site is running an older WordPress version, in which case update WordPress rather than installing a standalone Abilities API plugin.

The MCP Adapter is a separate WordPress feature plugin this extension builds on and isn't part of DMS. It's not on the WordPress.org plugin directory yet, so install it from GitHub (download the repo as a zip from the green Code button, then upload it on Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin like any other plugin). If it's missing, you'll see a notice on your Plugins screen and on the AI Actions screen.

Abilities API missing on an old WordPress version

If your site predates core Abilities API support, you'll see a notice naming it too. Update WordPress first - only fall back to a standalone Abilities API plugin if you can't update.

How it works

  1. You connect an AI client (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or any other MCP-compatible tool) to your site using a server address and a key - see Connecting an AI Agent.
  2. The AI discovers what it can do. Once connected, it can see every action available - searching inventory, updating a price, adding a lead, and so on.
  3. You ask it to do something, in plain language: "find every truck under $20k," "mark listing #4521 as sold," "add a note to this lead." The AI picks the right action and runs it.
  4. Everything is logged. Every action the AI takes is recorded - see What the AI Can Do for the full list, and check Dealer.ms → AI Actions in your WordPress admin to review what's happened.
