AutoCheck Report

The AutoCheck Report extension seamlessly integrates AutoCheck vehicle history reports into your Dealer Management System (DMS). This feature allows dealers to provide potential buyers with crucial insights into a vehicle's past, including accident history, title status, odometer readings, and more. By offering AutoCheck reports directly on the Vehicle Detail Page (VDP), you can build trust with customers and enhance transparency in your inventory listings.

This documentation covers everything you need to know about setting up, configuring, and using the DMS AutoCheck Report extension.

Requirements

Requirement Value
DMS version 1.0.0 or newer
License Starter or higher
AutoCheck account An active AutoCheck dealer account with DealerWebLink access
Inventory data A listing category holding each vehicle's VIN

The extension does not include AutoCheck access. You need your own account with Experian, and the credentials they issue you.

How it works

  1. You enter your AutoCheck credentials on the listing type and tell DMS which category holds the VIN.
  2. You place the AutoCheck element on a listing template, filling it with whatever text or image should be clickable.
  3. On the front end, that content becomes a link. Clicking it opens the vehicle's AutoCheck report in a new tab.
  4. DMS requests the report from AutoCheck server-side using the listing's VIN, then serves it to the visitor.

Your credentials are never exposed to the browser — the request to AutoCheck happens on your server, and the visitor only sees the resulting report.

Reports are cached for 24 hours

Once a VIN's report has been fetched, it is stored for a day and re-served from cache. Repeated views of a popular listing cost you one AutoCheck request, not one per visitor.
