Brand Voice

Brand Voice tells the AI who you are and how you like to sound, so your posts read like your dealership and not like a template. It is used for every post: the ones you write, the ones Autopilot writes, and every rewrite.

Open the Brand voice tab on the Dealer.ms > AI Blog page (administrators only). Every box is optional. Even a short About text makes a noticeable difference.

The boxes

Box What to put in it
About your dealership Who you are, what you sell, what makes you different. Years in business, family owned, services you offer. The AI treats it as true and uses it where it fits, so only write things that are real
How you sound A tone: friendly and local, professional and knowledgeable, enthusiast, straight-talking, or relaxed. The default mixes it up, with a different feel for each post
Anything else about your style How you talk to customers: short sentences, a bit of humor, how you address people, who you write for
Local places to mention Towns, neighborhoods, lakes or roads your customers know. The AI mentions them when they fit
Words to avoid Words and phrases separated by commas. The AI will not use them. A phrase that is part of a longer word is still allowed, so "cheap" does not block "cheaper"
Sign-off line Added word for word as the last line of every new post, after the closing paragraph

Example

A boat dealer might fill the form in like this. The card beside the form has three tabs, Example, Before and after and Good to know. The Fill the form with this example button on the Example tab does it for you, and nothing is saved until you click Save brand voice.

Box Example
About Family owned boat dealer on Tampa Bay for over 20 years. We sell new and used pontoons, bay boats and fishing boats, and we service everything we sell. Most of our customers are local families who fish and cruise on weekends.
How you sound Friendly and local
Style Talk like a neighbor at the dock. Short sentences. Say "you" a lot. Never talk down to first-time buyers.
Local places Tampa Bay, Davis Islands, Clearwater, the Courtney Campbell Causeway
Words to avoid cheap, deal of a lifetime, must-have
Sign-off See you at the dock! The Harbor Point crew

Without a voice, a paragraph might say: "This used white pontoon seats 8 and has a Bimini top for shade. A livewell is built in for anglers."

With the example voice it could say: "Picture a Saturday on Tampa Bay with the whole family aboard. This used white pontoon seats 8, and the Bimini top keeps everyone out of the sun. There is a livewell too, so the kids can fish while you cruise."

That is an illustration. Real posts depend on your inventory and your notes.

What it can and cannot do

  • The AI still cannot invent prices, years, figures or links. Everything it writes goes through the same checks as before.
  • Whatever you write in About, Style and Local places counts as a source of facts. If you write "family owned since 1998", the year 1998 can appear in a post, because you said it. Without that line it would be rejected.
  • It does not change posts you already have. It applies to new posts and to rewrites.
  • It is not used for AI listing descriptions in your inventory. Those come from the core plugin and have their own settings.
  • The sign-off is plain text added by your site, not by the AI. If you change it, posts you already wrote keep the old one.
